Overcoming Fear

How Hypnotherapy Can Help!

Many individuals are affected by anxiety disorders each year. A good number of people make an effort to live and cope itself, suffering from this problem in silence. Anxiety is an innate part of us all. It affects us both physically and psychologically and in its normal form will help us stay alert, signal danger and help us with all round performance.

Anxiety produces adrenaline that can feel a lot like panic and fear. This adrenaline is actually what kept our ancestors one step ahead of their potential predators and is known as the 'fight or flight' system. While threats like that aren't a problem now, this adrenaline still serves us well in particular scenarios. However, in excess it can normally work against us, causing us to have panic and fear when there is absolutely nothing to be worried about.

These feelings can last a long time and have a substantial impact on a person's life. Anxiety like this is normally called GAD (generalised anxiety disorder). Panic, fear, sleeping disorders, palpitations, dizziness, feeling sick and anxiety attacks are just some of the symptoms related to GAD. A number of sufferers find it difficult just to survive through the day and find it hard to stop the feelings of panic and worry. It is an extremely overwhelming and debilitating condition that might affect a person at any age, though the risk is highest between childhood and middle age.

This disorder can leave the sufferer feeling like they are 'going mad.' They believe that no one could understand them and actually feel embarrassed and ashamed. They suffer alone and conceal their condition from the people close to them. They suffer a loss of confidence in their mind and body and instead wear an emotional or behavioural mask. Hiding this issue and believing there is no such thing as hope is common practice for countless sufferers. This can make the anxiety worse.

The most worthwhile way to be free from this anxiousness is to locate the root cause of it and take care of it. If there is no longer an underlying cause, there will probably no longer be an effect.

A very productive treatment for GAD is hypnosis.

Hypnosis helps the individual discover new techniques for thinking, feeling and dealing with their issues. When using hypnosis, favourable suggestions are offered to the sub-conscious to reduce the detrimental feelings and beliefs that were in charge. The mind is a very powerful thing and hypnotherapy specialist techniques use the resources of our subconscious to regain power over our emotions.

I run a 5 session programme that is specifically designed to deal with fears and anxieties called the 'Freedom Formula' - this intensive programme integrates the most advanced therapeutic methods to deal with the root cause of the fear and re-programme your thinking to reduce and eliminate the fear. Please call or email if you want to discuss in more detail.
