Gastric Band Hypnotherapy

How this can help reduce the need for big portions

The process of dropping pounds can often be packed with difficult hurdles. For countless people, the complicated relationship between food and emotions makes sticking with diets not only hard to do, but also infuriating and depressing. These problems can then make people want to try extreme methods to help them get slimmer.

You might have read about the weight control procedure which involves inserting a ‘gastric band’ around the stomach; by helping you feel full much faster, it aims to make it easier for you to consume less. However, you may be surprised to find out that the same results are possible without invasive surgical procedures.

Gastric band hypnosis consists of a combination of hypnosis, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and is designed to make somebody believe they have been fitted with a gastric band, providing them with all the benefits of this type of procedure with a lower cost and devoid of the associated hazards of the actual surgery.

A hypnotic gastric band vs. a surgical approach for weight loss

If you're able to get gastric band surgical procedure done privately, this could be very costly, or if you fulfil the required guidelines of the NHS (which are strict), you may be on the waiting list for some time. Plus, irrespective of whether you go private or use the NHS, it's estimated that roughly 80% of people who are fitted with a gastric band; experience unwanted side effects including vomiting and nausea. Besides, there is always the chance that the band will not be appropriate for you, meaning it can need to be removed, resulting in extra money, time and comfort sacrificed.

Gastric band hypnotherapy, however, is a totally different story. It not only is cheaper, but it is also altogether safe, meaning you won’t be concerned about negative effects or surgical complications. Unlike a surgeon, your therapist could be able to uncover and treat the reason behind your weight issues, meaning you might have better chances of not merely shedding fat and keeping the weight off, but also starting a new, healthier relationship with food in general.

What you should expect from hypnotherapy

A hypnotic gastric band will mimic the real medical operation. When the hypnotherapist guides the individual into a deeply relaxed state of mind, the subconscious becomes ready to accept the power of favourable suggestion. Regardless of the client’s changed state, they will not be asleep and will remain conscious of what's happening in the session. Often utilising odours and noises to boost the mock surgery, the hypnotherapist will guide the client step by step through each stage of the ‘operation’.

In some cases the hypnotherapist might want to see the customer sometime after the ‘band’ has been fitted, to check up on how their weight management is going; if the rate of weight management does need to be altered, the hypnotherapist will then 'adjust the band'.

Quite a few clients find that they start reducing weight steadily after gastric band hypnotherapy, and all without needing to deal with nasty side effects or invasive surgery.
